My house is a swarm of paper. Half coloured Frozen pictures are stuck hap hazardly on walls. Owen walks around clutching a wad of printed words, it his screenplay that he has written. He rehearses daily.
Molly spends hours sitting at her desk, creating stories Enid Blyton would be proud of. Then she leaps onto her crutches and darts round the house as the printer whirr into action and starts spitting out her stories.
Our lives have been transformed by a piece of technology.
Harry the HP Envy printer has caused delight to frolic in our home.
Most people know me to be a technical fool. And when approached to see if I wanted to review a printer, I will confess, I worried slightly.
I have a tendency to break things when trying to set them up.
However…
This beauty took me an hour to install, hook up to two laptops and enable wireless printing from my phone and tablets. I only needed to call the helpline once *proud face* and the chap I spoke to didn’t make me foolish at all (even though the fault was clearly mine not the instructions.)
If it took me an hour, I imagine it would take most normal people about five minutes.
So back to the story.
Since Harry (as named by Libby-Sue) the HP Envy printer arrived in our home last week, a curious calm has descended on the house.
Playing schools it would seem is more fun when you can print the register. Picking a colouring sheet online, printing it, then painting it is far more satisfying than colouring in a normal, dull book. Writing scripts for TV is much better when you can print the finished result and act it out at will.
It even has grown up benefits as well…
My accounts file is now full and up to date, with bills printed cleanly and orderly and alphabetically processed away.
School forms that were emailed to me months ago have now been completed and returned. Medical forms have been typed online and printed and posted off. And I can print off my much loved photographs and the quality is exceptional!
Harry the HP Envy is restoring order in my papery world.
I know some of you foresee a sad ending to what is such a happy tale. I know the cynic in you is wondering what will happen when Harry starts to fade. When his ink supplies run low.
I know you think I will never remember to buy more, or know which brand to buy.
I know you see an end where Harry sits dusty in the corner, worthless to all as his ink hits zero.
You may not know that Harry is an instant ink printer!
Oh yes people, when Harry starts to run low on ink he simply orders himself some more and my credit card pays the small price.
Harry the HP Envy printer is a clever little chap. He is responsible for himself and as long as my bank account has pennies in it, he will never go dry.
We love Harry!
